The Science Data Center BioDATEN supports bioinformatics workflows across the entire data lifecycle. This will facilitate users' access to various independent infrastructures at the regional, national and international levels, including Baden-Württemberg's high-performance computing infrastructure, the German bioinformatics infrastructure network de.NBI, the European bioinformatics network ELIXIR and the international bioinformatics network Galaxy. This new data center strengthens the already long-standing, close bilateral collaborations of Baden-Württemberg's excellent bioinformatics sites.

One aim of BioDATEN is the creation of tools along the research data management lifecycle to foster FAIR research data management. The key results are creation of a metadata schema to capture relevant cross-omics metadata, a tool to annotate these metadata, and a infrastructure to publish research data.
