Abstract:
Changes in the laws within the realm of the corporate governance discussion and an ongoing move towards a shareholder value based leadership have set the focus of company wide risk management in recent years. Academically speaking the field of risk management is a crosssectional function of various business disciplines. All conditions, influences and circumstances affect the components as well as the process in the risk management system.
This paper illustrates that the problems and needs of modern risk management are mainly focused on the creation of IT-supported business information systems. Requirements of the risk management system concerning system integration, handling, and efficiency of the flow of information are proposed. The topics are discussed with a focus on system design.
