In dieser Arbeit geht es um literarische Entwürfe weiblicher Identität in Taiwan. Dabei werden Konzepte des Postkolonialismus (Hybridität und Dritter Raum) mit taiwanischer Literatur verknüpſt. Es wird untersucht, wie sich Weiblichkeit in den Texten Xiao Sas konstituiert und wie das konfuzianische Rollenmodell mit emanzipierten Vorstellungen im Taiwan der 1980er-Jahre kombiniert wurde.

This dissertation deals with literary representations of female identity in Taiwan, thereby combining postcolonial theories (hybridity and Third Space) with Taiwanese literature. It will be shown how Xiao Sa constitutes womanhood in her texts and how Confucian role models are combined with more emancipated ideas of femininity in Taiwan of the 1980s.
